This is lovely. There's something different about French bookshops that I really like. I'm not sure what it is, but it's there hovering in the wings of your essay. Thank you!

Une belle expérience, Anne - dénicher des petits trésors dans l’antre d’un bibliophile. C’est une super belle façon de flâner , de se perdre dans un autre monde. J’adore la petite aquarelle de la montage!

Thanks Hugo! Glad to see you here! Also “what it’s like being you” makes me laugh, happy to oblige 😂

Just love this in every way. Our French is slowly - so slowly - allowing us to do more. I just bought a bike this morning. Love book shops and this one sounds blissful. Adding it to our list for later in the year. Lovely storytelling and excellent post-visit research. Glad you’re feeling better.

So much of it is overcoming our shyness. Je connais quelque mots mais je panique!

What a lovely bookshop to visit vicariously through your piece! I especially love the extra background you researched about the place. If you've got others, I'm here for it!

How charming! I always buy some magazines or short books when I'm in France and never manage to read them entirely. But buying them is what makes me happy. :)

It’s true, having them is half the appeal!
