I'm catching up with your posts and really enjoying seeing this corner of the world through your eyes. I've seen it via Instagram, following quite a few fellow locals, but this is the first time I've seen anyone else here on Substack write about Isère. Thanks!
I had made the trek up to the Plateau myself (with Aurélie and Ailsa, who make up the rest of our little family) a couple of weeks before you. It was the first climb of the year, using the child backpack, and the temperature was around 34°c that day. We got through eight litres of water each. Carrying the pack was a bit intense, seeing as it, supplies, and Ailsa weighed about 18kg, but we made it there and back down. No storm either (not like today!).
Thanks for this post, and the others, I'm looking forward to more!
So good to hear from you Alexander, and thank you! And yes, very cool to have crossed paths with another Isère resident on here! Any Instagram accounts you particularly recommend?
I’m glad you had a good hike sans storm haha, and kudos for all your carrying!
I shall have to have a look for Instagram accounts, I've not really been using the platform for a while now, only just heading back to start crossposting my substack letters. Most of them are either nature or bushcraft accounts, although there were some street photography ones too. I'll send them on soon!
Truly amazing! You are living the dream. Thanks for sharing! ❤️
Magnificent!
