That's delightful! Your 10 year old self was just exuding enthusiasm for all the experiences you could achieve in the day, made me smile! And great that you retained, pursued and developed these interests.
This is amazing on so many levels. I love that you still have your journals. Was it surprising to reread this older work/observe how you were viewing the world back then?
You bet I still have my journals, they're the first thing I would save in a fire, haha! I wouldn't say it was surprising because I remember the actual impressions so well, but it was delightful to see how well the entry aligned with them, and how clear and detailed it was.
I really loved this, thank you, for the original work, the idea to share it here, and then making it happen. This post says a lot and I think it is awesome.
Thank you for sharing this! Your 10 year old self is a great writer. All of the excitement and wonder comes through in the details she observes.
You're welcome, it was a gift to current me as well!
I love that 10-year-old-Anne was already YOU! 😍
Me too! <3

I agree! Thanks for reading!
What a treasure this kind of memory bank is. Thank you for sharing it with us!
My pleasure!
“one cloud, draining” is so poetic! Could be a book title. This journal entry is priceless. Full of wonder and enthusiasm. 🥰💚
Right?? I might steal that from myself.

A beautiful gift!
This is just joyous - I read the whole thing with a massive smile on my face! I doubt anything I read this week will top this.
It warms my heart even more to hear you say that! Thanks Lydia!
Loved this glimpse into where Anne of Green Places started. What a delightfully insightful 10 year old you were.
This is a treasure! 😀
That's a lovely way to look at it--I certainly see it that way--thanks Janis!
Beautiful story and precocious observations! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for reading!
Fantastic! And oh, the hints of awareness, the ten-year-old self-critic!
